FADE IN:
INT. APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - EVENING
Last time on Writer’s Block we met Jack and Noah, and their neighbors. This week, we deal with the first pitch and the aftermath of the housewarming party. We see Jack writing furiously on his laptop a surprise he is working on for Noah.
Jack: Ugh, when will this be right?
Actually, it is not much of a surprise. He is working on a pitch for a television show.
Jack: Hey Noah!
Noah enters the scene.
Noah: What is it?
Jack: I have a favor to ask you.
Noah: Okay. You have the floor.
Jack: I was wondering if you are interested in working on writing a sitcom for me.
Noah: I don’t know. Do you have a pitch?
Jack: I do.
Noah: I gotta hear this.
Jack: So, there’s a baseball comedy I want to pitch with a group of misfits in the bullpen who rarely go out into the field and pitch.
Noah: Hmmm...interesting.
Noah then takes the pitch Jack is holding and reads it. He then is horrified.
Noah: What the f*** is this? This is a terrible idea!
Jack: What do you mean?
Noah: I’m going to go into my room and get going with writing.
Jack: Okay…
Noah then leaves the room.
Jack: What the f*** is his problem?
CUT TO:
INT. NOAH’S ROOM - CONTINUOUS
Noah: Alright, now to clean my desk out and set up writing.
Noah picks up his things, one by one.
CUT TO:
INT. NOAH’S ROOM - FOUR HOURS LATER
Noah, still cleaning, is tired at the moment.
Noah: This is ridiculous. I have so much stuff and not enough time to spend on writing. This is taking all night.
CUT TO:
INT. NOAH’S ROOM - TWO HOURS LATER
Noah: That’s it! I quit!
Noah then puts down some things on the floor. The desk has been cleared, but the papers are nowhere near organized to optimal levels. Noah then heads to bed. On the next Writer’s Block, we are apartment hunting (sort of), and we are writing again.
