FADE IN
INT. NOAH'S ROOM - DAY
NOAH is on the computer, typing away.
NOAH
(sighs)
What a long night. Cleaning is rough. Now I need to search for apartments.
The phone rings.
NOAH
Hello?
WILL (V.O.)
Hey man, I heard you are having a difficult time with Jack. Is there anything I can do to help out?
NOAH
Not at the moment. But I am looking for apartments at the moment.
WILL (V.O.)
Good luck with that. This is the only apartment I know of that is affordable. Could you prove me wrong?
NOAH
I'd like to try.
END PHONE CONVERSATION
NOAH returns to his computer.
NOAH
Let's see, searching for apartments. Please let something good come up.
NOAH gasps.
NOAH
(flabbergasted)
What the hell? They are all out of my price range!
NOAH then proceeds to call WILL again.
NOAH
Hey man. You're right. The apartments are all out of my price range. I will not be able to afford this for too long.
He breathes out a sigh of disappointment.
WILL (V.O.)
See? I told you this is the only apartment I know of that is affordable.
NOAH
Now how do I handle Jack, is the question.
WILL (V.O.)
Just give him a chance. I'm sure he'll make things up to you.
CUT TO:
INT. LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS
JACK is typing away on his laptop.
JACK
There. Hopefully these revisions will be good enough to convince Noah that this is a good idea.
He gets up. He paces back and forth.
JACK
Baseball sure is hard to write about, that's for sure.
NOAH enters the scene.
JACK
Hey Noah.
NOAH
Hello Jack.
JACK
Nice to see you.
NOAH
Okay, now that I've cleared my head on things, let me hear your pitch again.
JACK
I've actually revised this. I'd like for you to read it.
NOAH
Read it?
JACK
Yes.
NOAH
Is that so?
JACK
It is so.
NOAH
Okay, let me read it.
NOAH takes the script from JACK. He reads.
Then he grows frustrated.
NOAH
Okay, now what you just showed me. I have no words.
JACK
Do you like it?
NOAH
(angrily)
F*** no, I don't like it. It's actually much worse than what you pitched to me last night.
JACK
What do you mean it is much worse than last night?
NOAH
Face it. You can't seem to write a good screenplay even if you wanted to.
JACK
No constructive criticism?
NOAH
You seem to be better at writing articles than a sitcom about sports.
JACK
(shocked)
Do you dare bring up A Guide to TV Ratings?
NOAH
As a matter of fact, I do dare. And I have.
JACK
That's it. I'm not telling you anything else about my scripts.
NOAH
Fine.
JACK
Fine.
JACK exits the scene.
DOOR SLAMS.
NOAH
Now what?
FADE OUT
