This marks Sheridan's first stop as a series regular in almost 9 years as she was dismissed from Desperate Housewives after 5 seasons in 2009 due to a storyline dictated exit.  Sheridan gained infamy by launching a Wrongful Termination lawsuit one year later, culminating in a messy media frenzy by the series' 8th and last season.  Despite this development, few can contest Sheridan is a powerhouse performer.  Combining sex appeal with charisma, Sheridan has enjoyed a lengthy career in primetime soaps, dating back to 1984's ABC flop Paper Dolls.  From there, a guest appearance on Knots Landing in 1986's finale earned her a recurring role on Knots Landing as Paige Matheson.  The role gained momentum and critical praise, earning Sheridan an upgrade to a contract player from 1988 through the series' end in 1993.

Following KL's ending, Sheridan's resume continued to strike lightning, earning her a lucrative role as DH' Edie Britt from 2004-09.  Sheridan fits the bill for playing Alexis Carrington as she has demonstrated her abilities to play trampy vixens, as evident in her DH role.  Fans of the original Dynasty recall Collins' Alexis washed out the bland cast with a title wave, creating a romantic obstacle for Blake (John Forsyth) and Krystle (Linda Evans), as well as a formidable business adversary for Blake.  Alexis gained welcome notoriety as Krystle's hissing enemy, resulting in the enemies engaging in a shameless catfight season by season.  Will Sheridan's presence help shake up the ratings for the anemic CW soap?  She has a messy and delicious task awaiting her.
