While ABC had a wonderful Wednesday, CBS and NBC certainly did not. Three of their shows arrived in Fractionland for the first time. NBC had Law & Order: SVU at 9 down a tenth to 1.1, surrounded by fractional Blacklist and Chicago PD. PD was down two tenths from its latest episode, while Blacklist was steady. On CBS, Survivor kicked off the night at 1.6, leading into fractional outings from SEAL Team and Criminal Minds. It's an especially bad performance for SEAL Team, which not only had a larger lead-in, but also had 0.9/0.8 halves, meaning it's not even a high 0.9 that Criminal Minds may have. Either way, this isn't promising for either, as Minds is even yty with midseason-bound Code Black, which isn't exactly known as a hit. On Fox, Empire returned steady, though Star was down. Neither is doing particularly great, with both at or near last season's lows, but they're still doing well enough to put this lineup in Fox's "success" column for now. On the CW, Riverdale shed a tenth, while Dynasty remained at last week's pitiful 0.2. Riverdale isn't anywhere near its amazing premiere rating, but that doesn't make the recently-extended Dynasty look any better. ABC was the undeniable winner of the night with a strong 3.2 for the CMA Awards. This is up from last year, which is incredible, especially considering the Alphabet's luck with recent award shows.
Finals Update: Everything held its preliminary ratings.
