Thursday TV Ratings, 11/23/17: Young Sheldon Soars on Thanksgiving Night (UPDATED)

It was a dominating Thanksgiving for NBC and CBS, who both had the help of sports. CBS aired mostly original entertainment programming,  while NBC had their yearly primetime Thanksgiving football game. The CW was the only other network to air originals, and ratings-wise, that was a very bad decision. Both Supernatural and Arrow crumbled, both at 0.3 after solid 0.7/0.5 hours last year. NBC's football game had a mid-fours prelim that should translate to a big decline from 2016's Steelers v. Colts game. Over on CBS, Young Sheldon soared to 2.6 with a big BBT repeat lead-in that was boosted by football. The network also saw smaller gains throughout the rest of the night, with Mom jumping four tenths and Life in Pieces and SWAT up two. Life in Pieces was arguably the show that benefited the least, as it was relatively close to its seasonal average-to-date. ABC and Fox had expectedly anemic repeats that were ginormous downgrades from last year's Thanksgiving fare on those networks. Nevertheless, The Good Doctor's 10 PM repeat actually did pretty impressive, posting the highest results of all hourlong drama repeats, despite airing later than any other.

Finals Update: Thursday Night Football: Giants v. Redskins (+0.7) adjusted up. Football Night In America (-0.5) adjusted down.
