ABC Renew/Cancel - November 10: Black-ish is Certain to be Renewed

It's another fairly uneventful week with ABC Renew/Cancel, as nothing is changing categories. Hopefully a mid-season schedule comes soon, giving me more to talk about.

Ten Days in the Valley (DE-FACTO CANCELED)

Black-ish: While it may not have made as strong of a move to Tuesday as ABC would have hoped, Black-ish is still an easy renewal. It grows out of Fresh Off the Boat, is the network's fourth or fifth strongest comedy (depending on whether or not you consider it stronger than American Housewife), and ABC owns it, so they will be making money off of it in syndication. There's no reason that Black-ish won't return.

The Mayor: Unlike the rest of ABC's Tuesday line-up, The Mayor was unable to rebound from the low it hit on Halloween up against Game 6 of the World Series, staying at a 0.7. I've thought about moving it to "certain to be canceled", but I'm keeping it at "likely to be canceled" because, while a 0.7 is a bad number for an ABC comedy, it's a semi-decent number for ABC in general, and ABC seems to be really supportive of this show. I would put its chances of renewal around 15 percent.
