Dancing With the Stars Season 25 Semifinals Review

The semifinals are already here on season 25 of Dancing With the Stars! It feels like we just began this season ,and now it's about to be over. This week sees our dancers recreating iconic dances, so hopefully that goes better than I'm expecting it to.

Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas-
Lindsey is pretty much always great, but she was extra great this week, with two perfect routines (in my opinion) that I really enjoyed. Of the two, I'd say that the contemporary was the better one, but its really close. Both are enough to help cement her as one of the absolute best of the season.
My Score (Contemporary): 10
My Score (Tango): 10

Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson-
I was really disappointed with Frankie's routines this week. Neither wowed me like many of his dances have. The Paso was slightly better than the Salsa, but it was honestly still one of my least favorites of his. The Salsa just really did not suit him and while fun, it had a lot of problems.
My Score (Salsa): 8
My Score (Paso Doble): 9

Drew Scott and Emma Slater-
Drew's first dance, while fun, was very messy. It was a real treat to watch, but technically speaking, it just wasn't all there. The second dance had the same problems. It just wasn't anything special. It was marginally better than the first, but I still had a lot of issues with it.
My Score (Tango): 8
My Score (Jazz): 8

Victoria Arlen and Val Chmerkovskiy-
I've always really enjoyed Victoria's dancing, and she never ceases to amaze me with the fact that she can even do this at all. But tonight's dances were beyond anything she's ever done before. Her first dance had so much grace and it was just so beautiful, while her second dance was fantastic and wonderfully energetic. She's one of the most improved of this season for me.
My Score (Contemporary): 10
My Score (Charleston): 10

Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold-
Jordan's first dance was a bit disappointing. But it being considered disappointing is a testament to how great he really is, because it was a really good dance. The second dance, however, was all kinds of amazing. It was energetic, it was wildly entertaining, and it was absolutely fantastic. It's one of my favorite jives ever, and it was hands down the dance of the night. Hands. Down.
My Score (Argentine tango): 9
My Score (Jive): 10

Dance of the Night: Jordan & Lindsay - Jive

(Dis)Honorable Mention: Drew & Emma - Jazz

Wrap-Up-
This was a good show, other than the elimination. Victoria absolutely did not deserve to go home this week. As much as I like Drew (and I really do), it was his time. I enjoyed the "iconic dances" theme, though I honestly had forgotten most of the dances so they were all pretty new to me.
My Score: 8.5/10
My Grade: B+
