Ratings Analysis: As to be expected given its past numbers, Fox cartoon 'Duncanville' (0.18) made its return for season three in completely unremarkable fashion. Though it aired at 7:30 and had a low-rated 'Simpsons' rerun (0.14) leading into it, this rating was still a mere hundredth away from its series low. Later in the night, 'The Simpsons' (0.31, +0.01), 'The Great North' (0.26, +0.03), and 'Bob's Burgers' (0.35, +0.06) all climbed higher while 'Family Guy' (0.36, -0.01) inched down for its first episode since late March. ABC had a vibrant evening as 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (0.81, +0.09), 'American Idol' (0.92, +0.13), and 'The Rookie' (0.49, +0.12) all shot up by significant amounts. CBS went with '60 Minutes' (0.50, -0.07), a double-pump of 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.39/0.42), and a sinking 'SWAT' (0.41, -0.10). NBC got nothing out of a showing of the film 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' (0.21) and a fading 'Weakest Link' (0.20, -0.05). The CW's 'Riverdale' (0.04, -0.01) declined by a single hundredth and led into repeats of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' (0.04) and 'Would I Lie to You?' (0.03).
Finals Update: 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (+0.1), '60 Minutes' (+0.1), 'American Idol' (+0.1), and 'The Great North' (+0.1) adjusted up.
