Ratings Analysis: With Benedict Cumberbatch and Arcade Fire on deck, NBC's 'Saturday Night Live' (0.83, -0.01) shed a single hundredth for its first May 2022 episode. A Kentucky Derby-boosted rerun of 'Dateline' (0.52), an 'Inspiring America' special (0.27), and 'SNL Vintage' (0.28) preceded the main attraction. Leading out of the 8PM 'NBA Countdown' broadcast (0.70), ABC got a monstrous rating out of the 'Grizzlies v. Warriors' NBA playoffs game (1.85). This ultimately placed the alphabet network well above the other four. CBS's '48 Hours' (0.18, -0.03) dropped by the same amount it did a week ago but still outpaced the reruns of 'NCIS' (0.16) and 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.15) that aired before it. Fox's 'Bandits v. Stallions' USFL Football game (0.21) was modest at best and came in a hundredth below the week-ago 'Stallions v. Breakers' game (0.22). The CW was up slightly across the board with 'Would I Lie To You?' (0.05, +0.02) and 'Masters of Illusion' (0.04, +0.01). The 8PM encore of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway? (0.05) and 9:30PM repeat of 'Masters of Illusion' (0.04) matched the originals.
Finals Update: 'NBA Playoffs: Grizzlies v. Warriors' (+0.7) and the repeat of 'NCIS' (+0.1) adjusted up. 'NBA Countdown' (-0.2) and the repeat of 'Dateline NBC' (-0.1) adjusted down.
