Dramas The Rookie: Feds and Alaska, Comedy Not Dead Yet Ordered to Series by ABC; LA Law Revival & More Passed On

ABC, on the heels of renewing every single bubble show earlier today, has handed out three new series orders.

The Rookie: Feds is a spinoff of the network's Sunday night procedural The Rookie, and its backdoor pilot aired late last month. Niecy Nash stars in the series, portraying the oldest rookie agent at the FBI Academy. Frankie Faison and Felix Solis also star.

Alaska stars Academy Award winner Hilary Swank as a disgraced reporter who leaves her life in New York behind to join a daily newspaper in Anchorage, Alaska while on a path to redemption. Jeff Perry, Matt Malloy, Meredith Holzman and Grace Dove co-star.

Not Dead Yet, the network's only comedy pickup, will see Gina Rodriguez portray a broke and newly-single woman with a disasters personal life who decides to restart her life. After she gets a job writing obituaries, she begins getting life advice from an unlikely source.

ABC has also passed on its revival pilot of LA Law, the acclaimed legal drama that aired on NBC from 1986 until 1994. Blair Underwood and Corbin Bernsen were set to reprise their roles in that project.

Comedy pilot Josep, centered on a divorced Filipino-American dad and starring Jo Koy, has also been passed on by ABC, with hopes to redevelop the project.
