The Winchesters, Walker: Independence and Gotham Knights Ordered to Series by The CW

On the heels of a mass cancellation by the network, The CW has ordered three new pilots for next season.

The Winchesters is a prequel to the recently-ended long-running series Supernatural, which is by far The CW's longest-running series. It will focus on the parents of Supernatural's Sam and Dean Winchester, John and Mary. Meg Donnelly and Drake Rodger will star as the titular Winchesters in the series, which is described as an "epic love story." Jensen Ackles, who played Dean Winchester in Supernatural, will narrate the series.

Walker: Independence is another prequel, this one to the Jared Padalecki-led western Walker. Katherine McNamara and Matt Barr will star in the series, set in the 1800s, which will tell the tale of McNamara's character Abby Walker, who is on a quest for revenge after her husband is murdered. She meets up with Barr's character, Hoyt Rawlins, and the two travel together to Independence, Texas, where they discover the town's eclectic residents who are running from their own troubled pasts.

Gotham Knights, a new DC Comics series, features the rebellious adopted son of the recently-murdered Bruce Wayne, who forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman's enemies. This band of misfits fights together to clear their names, ultimately coming together to form a team known as the Gotham Knights. Oscar Morgan, Olivia Rose Keegan and Navia Robinson are among the show's stars.
