Ratings Analysis: Though night one of NBC's '2022 Winter Olympics' coverage (1.24) more than doubled every other program that aired during the 8-11PM block, it opened leagues below where it began in 2018 (3.7). This was nearly 70% behind that rating from four years prior and demonstrates that the staying power of this towering event may be waning. Fox decided to air originals opposite the 'Olympics', with 'Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer' (0.32, -0.01) inching down and freshman sitcom 'Pivoting' (0.20, -0.02) slipping to a new low. Sandwiched in-between, struggling 'Call Me Kat' (0.32, +0.06) somehow rose to its highest rating for a Thursday-night episode in 2022. While a 0.32 is nothing to write home about, 'Kat' appears a tiny bit healthier than it was a few weeks ago. Airing behind reruns of 'Young Sheldon' (0.52) and 'Ghosts' (0.48), CBS's 'Celebrity Big Brother' (0.49, -0.29) plunged from Wednesday's return and was followed by an encore of 'Bull' (0.21). ABC got little mileage out of a pair of 'Soul of a Nation' specials (0.29/0.21) and even less out of a repeat of 'Promised Land' (0.10). The CW barely scraped by with reruns of 'Walker' (0.08) and 'Legacies' (0.06).
