Abbott Elementary: It's become one of the buzziest shows on broadcast television, and it has the ratings to back that buzz up. With six episodes aired, the show has been one of the steadiest new shows in recent memory, holding at 0.6 throughout its run. The Goldbergs has rated higher than it for the past few episodes, but overall, Abbott is currently ABC's top comedy. That's very impressive for a freshman comedy, particularly one that is a stark contrast from the network's regular comedy brand. ABC clearly sees the value in this show, giving it a consistent promotional push. It's also regularly promoted by Hulu itself (which shares a parent company with ABC - Disney), implying that the show is popular there. It's hard to be certain so soon into its run, but Abbott Elementary seems to have a long future ahead of it. I can be certain about one thing, though - at the very least, its future will extend to a second season. It's a CERTAIN RENEWAL.

The Goldbergs: Speaking of The Goldbergs, it feels like a good time to talk about it. At the end of 2021, the show truly seemed to be on its last legs. Ratings weren't that great (they weren't awful either, but nothing to write home about) and original star Jeff Garlin was terminated midway through filming the season. It's already nine seasons into its run, and it's not hard to imagining them ending the show at this point. However, there have been some positive signs for the show - ABC ordered four more episodes for the current season, and ratings have been good since it returned. I don't see signs indicating that the end is near, though that isn't to say it couldn't end - as I said, it's been on a long time, and (nearly) all shows have to end at some time. At the moment, I don't think this is the season it ends. It still LEANS RENEWAL.
