Fred: CEO
Kevin: CFO
Gregory: General Manager
Christina: Director of Marketing & Promotions
Ruthie: Project Manager
FRED, KEVIN, GREGORY, CHRISTINA, and RUTHIE are all in a boardroom at SugarCity’s headquarters.
FRED
So what’d you all think about that endorsement of mine? Did it save us?
GREGORY
No. The factory workers are more popular than ever though so there’s that.
CHRISTINA
Also, you omitted one of them from your endorsement. Coincidentally, the only one who had already endorsed all the others. The most popular one.
FRED
I endorsed Lorenzo.
CHRISTINA
He’s not the most popular one of them after that debate. And turns out, they’re not nearly as popular as you thought.
FRED
What are you saying?
CHRISTINA
The endorsement was a bust for us.
GREGORY
But again, great for the factory workers! I’m taking credit for that. Gotta get a win where I can.
FRED
That’s too bad, I consider Lorenzo to be a friend.
KEVIN
He made us a boatload of money, that’s for sure.
FRED
That too.
KEVIN
We have to revoke our endorsement if it appears they’re going to lose. We don’t endorse losers.
FRED
No…I made my endorsement and that’s the way it’s going to stay.
KEVIN
You know Fred, it’s been misstep after misstep with you. They lose and that’s just one more blunder on your end.
RUTHIE
Someone’s gotta say it, maybe this is why Albert rigged elections?
FRED
I’m not gonna rig the election. I wouldn’t even know how. Plus, I don’t intend on going to jail any time soon.
GREGORY
Maybe my factory workers’ endorsement will give them the push they need to win re-election. By the way, how is them winning good for us?
FRED
The optics of not endorsing losers.
CHRISTINA
Regardless, I think we need to focus more on wrapping up the campaign on the AGRUS Bar. Sales are down again, after that post-cancel culture bump. The AGRUS Bar is doomed.
FRED
So am I.
FRED walks out.
RUTHIE
If Fred loses his job, can I be CEO?
GREGORY
Not sure if it’s up for us to decide or not.
KEVIN
It’s up to the finances. And the AGRUS Bar puts SugarCity in a tough position.
CHRISTINA
I think it’s time we talk about this with Fred. Talking amongst ourselves is useless. I’m leaving.
