'Celebrity Big Brother' Set at CBS for Winter 2018

CBS has officially decided to enlist a celebrity edition of their hit summer reality series, Big Brother. Announced by Julie Chen in tonight's live Thursday broadcast of the long-running series, Celebrity Big Brother will set its sights on the network's upcoming Winter 2018 schedule.

Chen will reprise her hosting duties in the offshoot, with Alison Grodner and Rich Meehan executive producing. CBS All Access will remain the hub for 24/7 live feeds, as Pop TV serves up more unfiltered Big Brother After Dark. The classic components of the series known by fans, including Head of Household, Power of Veto, and live evictions, will carry over as the show plans to air multiple nights each week. Further details on casting and specific scheduling are unclear. While CBS is notably taking its first dive into a celebrity-infused Big Brother, the franchise at large has already spawned a successful celebrity branch, with the U.K. recently concluding its 20th season of Celebrity Big Brother since launching in 2001.

What do you think of this news? Will you watch the first-ever U.S. celebrity edition of Big Brother? How do you see this effecting the network's winter scheduling? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
