Why Is Castle Now "Likely to be Renewed"?
With 10pm collapsing around it, suddenly Castle doesn't look as bad as it once did. Plus, it gets syndication benefits, something no other 10pm show can say (though Nashville will be able to say it soon if renewed). It hasn't done the best, and I don't expect it to make the fall schedule, but with Mr. Sherwood saying that he wants more procedurals on the network, I'm not sure that ABC is willing to abruptly cancel Castle right now. My previous research has shown that ABC isn't likely to show much mercy to shows that have been on for 4 or 5 seasons, but Castle may be an exception. Sure, there are contractual negotiations to work out that may get in the way of a renewal, but Bones had lawsuits and still got a renewal. I'd like to say I learned from my mistake on that one--now watch Castle get canceled. Regardless, for now I'm upgrading it to a likely renewal.
