ABC Renew/Cancel Week 15: Mixed-Ish Looking Bad-Ish

Mixed-ish: Oh boy. That's all there really is to say here. After a solid-ish premiere, mixed-ish isn't looking good. It isn't even looking good-ish.  It's been at a 0.4 for three weeks now, with a rebound not appearing likely. It doesn't seem to be popular on streaming, given its weak audience demand per Parrot Analytics. It's also a pretty new show, with only one full season and one partial season to its name by the end of season two. Unless it can be packaged with Blackish's syndication deal, it's quite far from reaching the episode count needed for syndication. Aside from its connection with Blackish, there's very little going for it. With new management at ABC, the show could be in real trouble. It was the lowest-rated sitcom on ABC this week, which is even more pathetic when you consider that Call Your Mother is still a show airing on ABC. It isn't doing much worse than season one, and it still got renewed then. Perhaps there's something financially that ABC knows and we don't. That's a real possibility. However, from what I can see, the future is murky. It LEANS CANCELLATION.

Call Your Mother: Despite a surge in the ratings last week, the future still isn't too sunny for Kyra Sedgwick's new show. Yes, a 0.5 is certainly going to give it a better chance at a renewal, but I'm not upgrading it until I see some evidence that this uptick is part of a trend of growth for the show. For now, it looks to simply be a fluke gain caused by the show having very little competition. It's still a LIKELY CANCELLATION.

For Life: The sophomore drama ended its season last week with another 0.3, fifth-straight episode at that rating. This was arguably its worst performance of thos five 0.5s, as Call Your Mother had its best rating since the premiere and thus, gave For Life its best lead-in in some time. That doesn't impact my prediction for it, though, since I think its cancellation is just as likely this week as it was last week. IT would take a minor miracle to get this show a third season, given how far it fell in season two. A renewal isn't entirely off the table, but don't expect it. It ends its season as a LIKELY CANCELLATION.

What do you think of my predictions? What are your predictions? Let us know in the comments and vote in the poll of the week!
