Ratings Analysis: Sandwiched between anemic episodes of 'The Courtship' (0.12, -0.04) and 'Transplant' (0.13), NBC's 'Weakest Link' (0.21) returned in battered shape for season two. This was nearly 60% below its previous series low (0.5) and a laughable 83% behind its season one start (1.2). To make matters worse, the entire lineup of originals was once again beaten by the 7PM rerun of 'America's Got Talent: Extreme' (0.28). On ABC, 'America's Funniest Home Videos' (0.61, -0.24), 'American Idol' (0.95, -0.11), and 'The Rookie' (0.38, -0.13) came back down to earth after posting hefty gains the week prior. CBS's '60 Minutes' (0.73, +0.11) and 'The Equalizer' (0.62, +0.02) climbed higher while dramas 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.44, -0.07) and 'SWAT' (0.47, -0.04) stumbled. Fox dealt with a smattering of new lows as 'The Simpsons' (0.32, -0.10), 'The Great North' (0.23, -0.07), 'Bob's Burgers' (0.33, -0.01), and 'Family Guy' (0.33, -0.08) all crashed. The 7PM 'Simpsons' (0.23) and 'Call Me Kat' (0.18) reruns were barely lower than the originals. On the CW, the '27th Critics' Choice Awards' (0.19) improved by a staggering amount from the 26th ceremony that aired in 2021 (0.08).
