For most shows, Tuesday was their second week back. But ABC debuted a new Tuesday lineup, and all eyes were on them. That lineup brought some mixed results, but nothing really did that badly. Newbie the Mayor brought in a 1.2, a mediocre result considering the promotional push it got, but still doing OK. Kevin (Probably) Saves the World arguably had a stronger premiere performance, with a 1.0 out off the Mayor's 1.2. The show did far better than some of ABC's recent drama debuts, so ABC should is (probably) content with this result, especially with the history at the Tuesday @ 10 slot. Earlier in the night, The Middle's final season got off to a strong start, taking third for the night with a 1.6. Behind it was Fresh Off the Boat, noticeably lower than last year's premiere but higher than last year's late-spring results. Still, it's a good-not-great number for the long-running comedy, one that's well below last year's American Housewife premiere. Blackish made its much-anticipated move to Tuesdays at 9, and the show did pretty well, with a 1.5, around where it was performing for much of last year. The show was heavily promoted, so we'll see how well it can hold up, but for now it appears to be a win. NBC's This Is Us took a large dip to 3.1, still far and away the #1 show of the night. It's a pretty big fall, but it's not exactly unexpected, as seen with CBS's The Big Bang Theory on Monday. Before TIU was the Voice, which was down five tenths from last Tuesday, and behind it was Law & Order True Crime, which was down four tenths to a (quite frankly embarrassing) 1.2. On Fox, Lethal Weapon took a one-tenth dip to a new series low, while the comedies were both steady. CBS's NCIS was down two tenths to a really-meh 1.4, while Bull down a tenth to 1.2 and NCIS: New Orleans was steady at 1.0 (which is more than fellow CBS 10 PM series Scorpion can say, at least).
Finals Update: The Voice (+0.1) and Fresh Off the Boat (+0.1) adjusted up. Law & Order True Crime (-0.1) and Brooklyn Nine-Nine (-0.1) adjusted down.
