Superstore S3E2 Review

The tornado from the second season finale is still affecting Cloud 9, and in tonight's episode the employees hold a memorial service for one of their co-workers.

S3E2 "Brett is Dead"

The episode begins with a memorial service for Brett. Sandra sings "Creep" by Radiohead, which is random, making it fitting for the show. Glenn keeps insisting that Brett could still be alive, which is really funny. Mateo and Cheyenne hilariously pretend they were close with Brett so they don't have to do as much work. However, this somewhat backfires when Glenn asks things about Brett. There is also a hilarious resolution here, when it turns out that Brett is somehow alive.

Amy grows concerned about Dina, and when she tells Glenn she's concerned, he hilariously tries to turn a guide on workplace shootings into one on workplace tornadoes, replacing "shooting" and "guns" with "tornadoes". In the end, Dina finally tells Amy about her issues. It is great to see this bond between the two of them, but of course Dina is still Dina, so this ends up being a one-way sort of thing.

Jonah becomes curious about why Garrett uses a wheelchair, and he believes that the two are close enough that he should know. Jonah asks other people about it, which leads to funny moments. Myrtle ends up reminiscing about the good old days, and Sandra lies about what she and Jonah were talking about when Garrett shows up. The ending to this story, however, was fairly anti-climatic.

Glenn was hilarious this week, definitely my favorite character in this episode, and I really enjoyed Mateo and Cheyenne. Amy and Dina's story wasn't that great at first, but had a great ending, while Jonah had some good moments, but the ending of the story with him and Garrett wasn't very good.

Score: 8.5/10
