Summer Renew/Cancel - June 10: The Night Shift is Likely to be Renewed

It's week four, and I have a lot to talk about with two shows on the move and three premiering next week, so let's get to it.

Format for predictions:
Show title (network) (average 18-49 rating, season low-season high)

Certain to be Canceled

Likely to be Canceled
Houdini & Doyle (FOX) (0.6, 0.5-0.7)

Toss-Up
Mistresses (ABC) (0.8, 0.7-0.8)
Wayward Pines (FOX) (0.8, 0.7-0.9)

Likely to be Renewed
The Night Shift (NBC) (1.0, 0.9-1.1)

Certain to be Renewed

Fate Determined
Beauty and the Beast (CW) FINAL SEASON

Yet to Premiere
American Gothic (CBS)
Aquarius (NBC)
BrainDead (CBS)
Uncle Buck (ABC)
Zoo (CBS)

The Night Shift: Despite falling two tenths this week, I think that The Night Shift will stick around. 0.9 isn't that bad, for summer especially, and it was up against NBA. The power of Sony got it renewed last time, despite horrible retention from The Voice, so why not this time?

Wayward Pines: Falling again this week, Wayward Pines has now passed its season low from last season, and I have decided to move it down to toss-up. If it rebounds, I will eventually move it back up.

Mistresses: Up a tenth this week, Mistresses is making me very confused. It is strange that ABC stuck it behind The Bachelorette this season, and gave it an additional episode, as that indicates that they want to keep it around. I don't know what to make of this show right now.

BrainDead: CBS has been building a summer line-up, though last season they canceled two out of their three shows. BrainDead is one of the new shows, and it seems to be the one they are most excited about, considering the promotion I've seen, while I have seen none for American Gothic.

Uncle Buck: What seemed to be a burn off seems like something more now, as ABC has been heavily promoting Uncle Buck, decided to change it from multi camera to single camera, and released the pilot early.

Aquarius: We may not get the ratings this week, because Aquarius will be airing a two-hour, commercial-free premiere. It got horribly low ratings last year, but the entire season was released online early, and that got it a renewal. Will those viewers make the transition to live TV?
