Predicting the 2016-17 Ratings: CBS New Midseason Shows

Wondering how I think the CBS midseason shows may do in the all-important Live + Same Day Adults 18-49 demographic? Well here they are! Just like I did with ABC, I'll be predicting numbers for numerous plausible time slots.

Doubt
Doubt is a new drama starring Katherine Heigl. We know how the high-profile State of Affairs did. This will be an interesting ratings watch. I think it could do modestly, not great.

Monday at 9 (if comedy block condenses): 1.23
Tuesday at 9: 1.43
Thursday at 10: 1.04
Summer post-Big Brother: 1.13
Summer anywhere else: 0.89

Ransom
Yes, despite not being announced at upfronts, this is a thing, as announced on June 6 (and I'm finding out about it right now!). It appears to be a hostage drama from an executive producer of The X-Files and Man in the High Castle, a critical darling that streams on Amazon Prime. It was picked up straight to series, so CBS brass may like it, but I'm predicting it will be a midseason miss.

Monday at 9: 0.80
Tuesday at 9: 1.14
Thursday at 10: 0.77
Summer post-Big Brother: 0.81
Summer anywhere else: 0.66

Training Day
Movies turned into TV shows haven't done all that great lately. Getting mixed reactions with the public right now, I don't think this will be the one to break the trend. Though there are many Training
Day fans out there, there weren't a ton of people vocal about watching this on the small screen weekly.

Monday at 9: 1.01
Tuesday at 9: 1.24
Thursday at 10: 0.82
Summer post-Big Brother: 0.88
Summer anywhere else: 0.69
