Marge Simpson is in a mood as the home she has known for 27 years is being moved on her. A recent Twitter hashtag started by a trolling Twitter Ass titled #MoveSimpsonsTo7:30 generated much discussion of the declining, repetitive quality of the series. The Simpsons has been cushy in its 8:00 timeslot since 1994 due to lucrative and high ratings. However, recent seasons have softened The Simpsons' dominance as it regularly gets beat by mundane shows such as any NCIS spinoff. After the tag became popular by Twitter user "Loser Virgin Living in Mom's Basement" gained a cult following, FOX decided to make a move and test The Simpsons out in a earlier timeslot to see if it can farm the timeslot destroyed by Bless The Harts.
So what does this mean for the 8:00 timeslot? FOX has yet to announce which show will fill the void, but likely The Great North is on the move to this slot, placing Bless the Harts back in its rightful 8:30 slot. If this move works out, would FOX consider using The Simpsons to rebuild weak timeslots? If so, perhaps it may strike paydirt on Saturdays.
