Preliminary Analysis: While it was a heated and anxiety-inducing night for most Americans, it was a rather quiet one on the ratings front. NBC's election coverage led the pack with a 1.7 A18-49 rating, nearly 60% below the
4.0 rating it garnered in 2016. ABC came in second with a 1.5, more than a full point behind 2016 (
2.7). Fox followed with a 1.2, surprisingly steady with what it posted four years ago. Settling for last place, CBS (1.1) limped to the finish-line and was down 55% from the 2.4 it posted during the Hillary-Trump election. As usual, the CW stayed out of the political arena, going with repeats of 'Penn & Teller' (0.2/0.1).
Finals Update: Your Voice/Your Vote 2020 (+0.1) adjusted up. Fox Democracy 2020 (-0.2) and the 8 PM repeat of Penn & Teller: Fool Us (-0.1) adjusted down. This puts Fox in last place out of the four networks that had election coverage.
