Preliminary Analysis: With the help of 'NFL Overrun' (5.2) in the 7pm hour, CBS's '60 Minutes' (1.4) rose five-tenths from last week's installment. The newsmagazine led into the season premieres of 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.7) and 'NCIS: New Orleans' (0.5). 'Los Angeles' was one-tenth below its 2019 debut (0.8) while 'New Orleans' came in two-tenths below its year-ago opener (0.7). CBS closed out their night with a repeat of 'NCIS' (0.4). NBC had 'Football Night in America' (1.6/3.3) and the 'Saints v Buccaneers' (4.0) NFL game. ABC's 'AFV' (0.7) held even while 'Supermarket Sweep' (0.7) and 'Millionaire' (0.4) each lost a tenth. At 10, the alphabet network aired an Alex Trebek tribute special (0.4) that slightly improved from what 'Card Sharks' (0.3) did in the slot last week. Over on Fox, 'The Simpsons' (0.6), 'Bob's Burgers' (0.6), and 'Family Guy' (0.6) all held up rather nicely while 'Bless the Harts' (0.4) stuck out like a sore thumb at 8:30. For what it's worth, all four cartoons were either at or above where they were the last time they didn't have NFL assistance. Animated encores (0.4/0.4) populated the 7pm hour. The CW had a steady 'Pandora' (0.0) and 'Whose Line' repeats (0.0/0.1).
Finals Update: 'NFL Overrun' (5.8, +1.3), '60 Minutes' (2.0, +0.6), 'NCIS: Los Angeles' (0.8, +0.1), and 'NCIS: New Orleans' (0.6, +0.1) all adjusted up on CBS. NBC's NFL game (5.0, +1.0), Fox's 'The Simpsons' (0.7, +0.1), and ABC's 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' (0.5, +0.1) were also up.
