Since the last renew/cancel update on October 13th, Fox has opted to cancel a handful of shows. As a result, 'The Simpsons' and 'Bless the Harts' are the only two programs with undecided fates until more shows debut in January. Below is a look at where the programs on the Fox roster currently stand.
The Simpsons: With a sturdy 1.02 A18-49 ratings average, 'The Simpsons' stands triumphant as Fox's highest-rated scripted program. While hardly a feat given how much football juice is pumped into it, the series still holds its own on nights where it doesn't have an NFL game leading into it. For its latest episode, the cartoon garnered a respectable 0.7 rating and was the most-watched show on the 'Animation Domination' block. Although it is a bit concerning that it was not renewed alongside 'Family Guy' and 'Bob's Burgers' back in September, it remains far too lucrative for Fox to cut ties with. Status: CERTAIN RENEWAL
LA's Finest: Crime drama 'LA's Finest' was officially cancelled on October 14th when Spectrum pulled the plug on the series after two seasons. Because of this, Fox will no longer have second-run episodes to air even if they wanted to continue broadcasting the cop show. Ratings for 'Finest' have remained abysmal, generally hovering around the 0.3-0.4 range, so it comes as no surprise that no more installments will be produced. This was another correct prediction by The TV Ratings Guide. Status: CANCELLED
Filthy Rich & Next: The Fox network decided to kill two birds with one stone and cancel both 'Filthy Rich' and 'Next' on October 30th. 'Filthy Rich' has consistently been a disastrous performer, posting a meager 0.3 rating for its last three outings. 'Next' has only ever gotten to air three episodes and each one has garnered that same feeble 0.3. Interest for both of these shows are incredibly low so it was clear on day one that neither would make it past the first season. These were correct predictions by The TV Ratings Guide. Status: CANCELLED
