Life Sentence premiered to a preliminary 0.3 in the adults 18-49 demographic. To make matters worse, it did about the same as Dynasty and Valor in its premiere. Then it adjusted down to a 0.2, marking it the lowest rated CW premiere of all time. Has there been any scripted rookie show in the CW's history with a premiere rating that low? There are few times I've been bold on predictions, and this is one of those times. Life Sentence, at that level, is certain to be canceled.
With Life Sentence certain to go to the television grave as well as The Originals and Valor, the CW could cancel at least one more show. Will it be Dynasty? Will it be any of the two CW shows (iZombie and Jane the Virgin) currently predicted as likely renewals? Or will it be The 100, which is premiering late and airing most of its episodes in summer? Even with the CW Sunday expansion, I don't expect the CW to renew everything. There are also 10 pilots to decide on whether they get ordered to series. If more than five shows get ordered, at least one more show is on the chopping block.
Since most of the low rated shows are at 0.2-0.3, I decided to upgrade Arrow to certain to be renewed. There is no way the CW will cancel its flagship Arrowverse show even if its near the median rating.
