Summer Renew/Cancel - July 1: Zoo is Likely to be Renewed

It's week seven, and this week Zoo premiered, so now all of the summer shows have premiered. In addition, one show is changing categories, and one changed categories two days ago, and that is now shown here.

Uncle Buck (ABC) (1.2, 1.0-1.5)

Fate Determined
Beauty and the Beast (CW) FINAL SEASON

Zoo: This week Zoo premiered, and it was lower than any rating it scored in its first season last summer. However, that 0.8 is higher than the 0.7s new summer shows BrainDead and American Gothic. This is not high enough to guarantee it renewal, but considering that it is rating better than their new summer shows, they will probably renew Zoo so that they don't cancel all three.

American Gothic: While BrainDead is certainly dead, maybe American Gothic has a chance at renewal. It was flat in week two, unlike I expected at all. If it stays stable and Zoo falls, there is a possibility that this show gets renewed, which is why I moved it from certain to be canceled. It isn't likely, but it's possible.

Uncle Buck: I upgraded this show earlier in the week in case its contracts expired on June 30th. No news has come yet, but that doesn't mean it's dead. The ratings certainly call for a renewal, and you can read more about that here.

The Night Shift: I was very close to upgrading this show, making it a certain renewal, when ratings dropped from 1.0 to 0.9 last week then 0.8 this week. If this show bounces back, I'll definitely keep it at likely to be renewed, and maybe even upgrade it to certain if it bounces back enough. But, if it stays at 0.8 or falls lower, it may be in danger of being downgraded to toss-up, with the chance of becoming likely to be canceled down the road.
