JACK arrives at his and NOAH’s apartment.
NOAH
How was lunch?
JACK
It would’ve been good if I wasn’t so nervous about the ratings.
NOAH
The ratings are the ratings. How many people watched the show last night is out of our control at this point.
JACK
You’re right. But I’m still kinda nervous.
NOAH
Wanna check?
JACK
Not really, but we should.
JACK opens up his phone and checks the ratings.
JACK
Oh no. It’s bad.
NOAH
How bad?
JACK shows NOAH his phone.
NOAH
Oh. Yeah, that’s beyond bad.
JACK
What are we gonna do about this?
NOAH
Well we can yell at Ed but that’s probably not worth it.
JACK sits down on the couch.
JACK
Wait a minute, I have a missed call from the DC Network.
JACK listens to the message.
JACK
Welp. We got pulled from the schedule.
NOAH
Uh…what do you mean?
JACK
Working As A Family doesn’t have a time slot anymore. At best, it’ll be burned off in a low-priority time slot. At worst, it’ll never air again.
NOAH
No. This can’t happen.
NOAH stands up and walks around.
JACK
Noah, it’s okay, we’ll figure something out.
NOAH
We better, because the way things are going we’re not going to write for television anytime soon.
