Apple TV+ Renew/Cancel: Home Before Dark Rises in Demand Amidst Start of New Season

Below is a table of audience demand multipliers as reported by Parrot Analytics for Apple TV+’s original series. A 1.0 multiplier is the average for all shows past and present, and is updated on a rolling 30-day basis. This edition gives an update on the prediction track record so far and discusses predictions for shows yet to be renewed or canceled. The numbers seen in this table are as reported on June 29, 2021. Home Before Dark
In the previous edition of Apple TV+ Renew/Cancel, Home Before Dark had a 2.5 multiplier and was two days away from the premiere of a new season. It has now broken a 6 multiplier, and will likely continue to rise in the coming days. It’s also expanded its international appeal, now having four countries with an audience demand of at least 50% that of the one in the United States. The fact it’s fully distributed by Apple Inc. also can’t hurt. With all this in mind, I’m predicting Home Before Dark will be renewed for a third season.

Little Voice
I said a few weeks ago that time was running out on a renewal for Little Voice. It’s now been more than 10 months since the first season concluded, and there still hasn’t been any word as to if it will return for a second season. This is a show that was ordered to series all the way back in 2018. It’s been hovering around a 2.x multiplier all year; steady, but showing no signs of suddenly finding a new audience. My guess is that if Apple really wanted to renew this show, it would’ve happened by now. For the first time ever, I’m predicting Little Voice will not return for a second season.

Stillwater
As is seen with Apple’s early Season 3 renewal of Central Park, animated shows take time to produce. It is a terrible sign for Stillwater that it has yet to be renewed, while all three other kids’ cartoons (the two Snoopy shows and Dough Unplugs) have been renewed. It’s also been nearly seven months since the first season concluded. A few weeks ago, I fully expected to downgrade it to a cancelation predicted by this edition. However, in between editions, it happened to pick up a Peabody Award. Apple isn’t hiding the news either, making an entire press release out of it. It’s in the realm of possibility that becoming a Peabody winner, the first ever for Apple in the kids’ department, could give it a second chance. For that reason alone, I’m keeping Stillwater in the light green for now.
