LORENZO and FRED are in the kitchen of Lorenzo’s Kitchen by SugarCity.
FRED
Lorenzo—
LORENZO
Hey Fred.
FRED
I know we’ve had disagreements in the past, but I think you’re really going to like this idea of mine.
LORENZO
What’s your idea?
FRED
Well, technically it’s one I came up with in a room full of other SugarCity executives.
LORENZO
So it’s not your idea?
FRED
Eh. You’re gonna want to hear it though. It’s—
LORENZO
What is it?
FRED
You’re not letting me finish. It’s an expanded line of cotton candy.
LORENZO
Expanded line of cotton candy? That’s a great idea!
FRED
I know you already have 37 flavors, but I also realize we need to find common ground and you have what some would call an obsession with cotton candy.
LORENZO
You bet I do.
FRED
So we’re thinking they’ll be chocolate-themed. You know, to fit the SugarCity theme.
LORENZO
Understood.
FRED
Your job is to take some of the chocolate we’ve supplied to you, and make cotton candy with it. Sound good? Nice. I’ll see you soon!
FRED walks out of the kitchen. LORENZO spends some time experimenting before bringing out his first ever chocolate-based cotton candy creation.
LORENZO
WHO WANTS IT?!
Everyone in the restaurant stops what they’re doing and looks at LORENZO. LORENZO sees CHASE, MADISON, ADAM, REAGAN, LINCOLN, and SAM at the bar.
CHASE
Who wants what?
LORENZO notices he forgot to bring out the cotton candy. He quickly retreats to the kitchen and comes back out with it in his hand.
MADISON
Me!
LORENZO walks over to MADISON and hands her the chocolate-based cotton candy. She takes a bite.
MADISON
This is better than the grape-lime-orange one for sure!
LORENZO
So, 36th place?
MADISON
Is this supposed to be good or bad? I don’t want to say the wrong thing.
LORENZO
Say what you think.
MADISON
I love it!
LINCOLN takes some cotton candy off the stick and tries it.
LINCOLN
Wow, it really is. Sometimes I forget about your true abilities, Lorenzo.
LORENZO
I wouldn’t exactly call myself a GREAT baseball pitcher.
LINCON
What? Who said anything about you being a great baseball pitcher? I’m talking about your cotton candy making skills.
HARRY runs over to the bar.
HARRY
Lorenzo, I’m getting called over to so many different tables asking for that cotton candy of yours. You need to make more!
LORENZO runs to the kitchen and makes more chocolate-based cotton candy with whatever chocolate bars he can find. HARRY hands out the cotton candy and charges $5 each.
LORENZO
I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE!
After a pause.
LORENZO
I’ve run out of chocolate. Thanks for your support with my new cotton candy!
LORENZO walks over to the bar.
LORENZO
Bad news guys. I didn’t get to eat any cotton candy today.
REAGAN
You must’ve made a fortune selling it though!
LORENZO
Yeah. But Fred’s gonna be so mad at me for using up all the chocolate.
SAM
He’s not going to send you more?
CHASE
It’s SugarCity. They have like, an endless supply of chocolate.
LORENZO
You guys are good thinkers. Make money now, eat cotton candy later. I don’t love it, but I’ll settle for it.
ADAM
Sounds like a great plan to me.
FRED walks over to the bar.
FRED
Well done today, Lorenzo. I’m proud of us. Time for me to count that money.
