INT. BUNKER LIVING ROOM - NIGHT

SUPER: PREVIOUSLY ON WRITER’S BLOCK...

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

JACK (CONT’D)
Who’s there?

NOAH
It’s nothing. Let’s get back to work.

Another knock on the door occurs.

Then the knocks get louder.

JACK
Oh my God, somebody’s trying to get in.

Noah freezes in fear.

BACK TO PRESENT EPISODE.

Jack then decides to open the door.

A MYSTERIOUS MAN enters the premises.

Fury rises from his face.

MYSTERIOUS MAN
Who are you? What the hell are you doing in my bunker?

JACK
I’m Jack...

Jack then points towards Noah.

JACK (CONT'D)
...and this is Noah. We’re sitcom writers. Please don’t hurt us.

MYSTERIOUS MAN
I was a sitcom writer once.

The mysterious man shrugs.

MYSTERIOUS MAN
Now I’m all washed up. Past my prime. I’ve owned this bunker for seven years and now I’m in danger of losing this place.

NOAH
Can’t Jack and I stay?

MYSTERIOUS MAN
No you can’t.

The mysterious man paces back and forth.

JACK
So, what’s your name?

MYSTERIOUS MAN
My name’s Ed. Now can you pack your bags and…

NOAH
We’re working on a sitcom called Working as a Family. We need a co-partner for this thing.

ED
How come I have never seen it on television?

Jack then looks at Noah.

Noah then shrugs.

Jack then focuses his attention on Ed.

JACK
We are pitching the show to networks to see if we can at least get a pilot.

ED
With what connections?

NOAH
If you want to return to television, this could be your chance.

ED
Look, you guys need to leave. Don’t come back until I hear convincing evidence that this pilot will go somewhere.

Discouraged, Jack and Noah start to pack their things.

INT. CAR - NIGHT

SUPER: HOURS LATER

After getting kicked out of the bunker, Noah and Jack contemplate.

NOAH
Now what are we going to do?

JACK
Back to hotel living.

NOAH
We gotta think fast. There’s a television writers’ conference coming up and it’s a perfect time to pitch some shows to writers.

JACK
In Anaheim?

NOAH
Where else?

JACK
If Ed needs convincing evidence, we’ll get the evidence. Good thinking.

Jack and Noah high-five each other.

Next week, it’s the premiere of Mike’s show and Jack and Noah are pitching.
