INT. BUSINESS HALLWAY - DAY

SUPER: PREVIOUSLY ON NETWORK…

Charlie turns to Jesse.

CHARLIE
Jesse, did you give her a yes or no answer as far as getting back together?

JESSE
I did not.

CHARLIE
And do either of you necessarily need to get back together in order to coparent?

Kasey nudges closer.

KASEY
Of course we are. Right, Jesse?

JESSE
Actually we don’t necessarily need to get back together in order to coparent Ezra.

KASEY
But why? I thought we agreed to this.

JESSE
I didn’t even give a yes or no answer.

Angrily, Kasey turns towards Charlie.

KASEY
Maybe next time, stop interfering in a person’s personal relationship.

CHARLIE
You and Jesse did it all on your own. Last time I checked, you dumped him. You couldn’t even communicate with him.

KASEY
I had postpartum depression! I couldn’t talk to anyone.

JESSE
Funny, it seems like you were getting along just fine with the husband of an ex-girlfriend of mine.

KASEY
I never knew you had to stoop so low to even say that. We’re not getting back together, ever.

JESSE
I already made that decision for you. I wasn’t planning on getting back with you in the first place.

KASEY
Keep that up and you’re not seeing your son. How about that?

Charlie then raises her baseball bat.

Kasey then blocks the bat from reaching the viewing area.

Charlie slaps Kasey.

Kasey then grabs Charlie’s hair.

Jesse then tries to break up the fight to no avail.

Holly then enters the scene.

HOLLY
Stop this, all of you!

The fight gets broken. Kasey then turns to Holly.

KASEY
Stay out of this!

HOLLY
There are cameras.

Ash then enters the scene.

ASH
What is going on here?

HOLLY
You may want to explain it to both Charlie and Kasey on the rules of decorum.

CHARLIE
Decorum?

KASEY
Aren’t you one to talk?

Ash then raises his pointer finger to his lips.

ASH
Quiet, guys!

Everyone turns around.

ASH (CONT’D)
If y’all want to air your grievances, I suggest we all go to the bar to watch the Super Bowl.

JESSE
I second that motion.

Everyone disperses back to their offices.

EXT. BAR - DAY

In lower Manhattan, the local sports bar sits around the corner.

Patrons walk in and out.

INT. BAR - DAY

The gang gathers around the bar where the Super Bowl is playing.

Kasey orders some wine.

CHARLIE
Can they ever get any more slightly offensive?

MATT
What’s your problem? Shakira’s hips still do not lie even after over a decade.

KASEY
You want to talk about interference, try intervening.

CHARLIE
I wasn’t even talking to you.

Leah, visibly irritated, shoots a look at Charlie and Kasey bickering at the bar.

LEAH
Can you two please calm down? You really want the bouncer of this fine establishment to kick all of us out.

KASEY/CHARLIE
Sorry. We’re just airing out our grievances.

LEAH
Rationally, please. And Kasey, go easy on the alcohol.

Kasey shrugs.

The bartender gives a nod to her.

Kasey gives a thumbs up.

KASEY
I want to give an announcement. Jack called me a few days ago, offering me a position on the writer’s staff of their hit DC Network sitcom.

MATT/CHARLIE/ASH
What?

HOLLY
You never told us you were a screenwriter.

KASEY
I was an English major.

ANNOUNCER (V.O)
Touchdown Kansas City!!!!!

The entire crowd cheered and jeered, leaving the executives confused.

CHARLIE
I was rooting for the 49ers, thank you.

ASH
It’s still too early to tell. Relax, it’s the third quarter.

The bartender, Lorenzo, comes back towards the crowd.

LORENZO
Can I get you guys anything else?

CHARLIE
Kentucky bourbon shall suffice.

KASEY
Seriously Charlie? Kentucky bourbon?

CHARLIE
I’m from Kentucky. Home of the Derby.

LEAH
Explains Charlie’s tendency for baseball bats.

JESSE
I think it’s cool that she’s a Kentucky girl. She’s tough as nails, I gotta give her that.

Charlie then takes a sip of bourbon that’s brought to her.

MATT
When’s the game going to be over?

ASH
We’ll be here all night if this goes into overtime. I’ll pay for the tap.

And thus we end our Super Bowl special. Next week, Ash is going to want a vacation. Don’t change that dial!
