INT. JESSE’S OFFICE - DAY

Previously, the gang was in LA for a break. Now, in this episode, we are back in New York.

Jesse is settled in at his office desk.

JESSE
Okay, let’s get back to work now.

He begins typing away on his office computer.

The phone rings.

Groggily, Jesse then picks up the phone.

INTERCUT - TOWNHOUSE/JESSE’S OFFICE

Noah is at the townhouse he, Jack, and Ed share in Bel Air.

He then begins a conversation with Jesse.

NOAH
I suppose that there’s a premonition about the show Ed, Jack, and myself write.

JESSE
Well, we have gotten word that there is a sitcom about a working family that is moving networks.

NOAH
If it’s ours, nobody is saying anything about it. We’re focusing on finishing the current season, which is season 4.

Okay, now, let me interject for just one moment. There’s a five year gap between Network and Writer’s Block.

The parent show, Network, is set in the present. Writer’s Block takes place five years before, in the past.

I just wanted to clear up some confusion on the whole scenario.

Okay, back to the episode.

JESSE
Okay, it is your show. But, pretend that the show is still going on. The rest is up to Mr. Chambers, as he has more information than I do.

NOAH
Excellent. Then I won’t trouble you further. We’ll focus on the rest.

Noah then hangs up.

Jack and Ed, overhearing the conversation, then goes outside to meet up with Noah.

ED
Noah, what did he say?

NOAH
There is a rumor circulating about our show moving from DC to RGO.

JACK
That’s a bigger network than DC.

ED
And we’re still doing reasonably well. Why would DC want to move us?

NOAH
I don’t know either. Let’s get back to writing.

ED
I’m with you on that.

The gang goes back inside the townhouse.

The door shuts.

INT. BUSINESS HALLWAY - DAY

Meanwhile, back in New York, at network headquarters, Charlie is pacing towards the conference room.

Suddenly, Ash shows up.

ASH
Charlie, I need to see you for a minute. My office.

Charlie then nods and follows Ash.

INT. PRESIDENT'S OFFICE - DAY

Jesse, Ash, and Charlie gather around Ash’s desk.

Ash gives out an ambivalent look.

ASH
(sternly)
What is this about a show moving networks?

CHARLIE
We’ve been hearing talk about Working as a Family for the past couple of days. Since before we got back from Los Angeles.

ASH
So, that’s what it’s all about. I got a confidential email about this from the president of DC Network.

JESSE
Noah, one of the writers, talked to me this morning.

ASH
Oh, he heard about this too?

JESSE
Only on a limited scale. A premonition.

ASH
Guys, we don’t need to spread this further. I’m the one who knows more about this, and even I’m limited to what I know.

CHARLIE
Problem is, a tabloid leaked it.

ASH
Let me see that.

He snatches Charlie’s phone and reads from it.

ASH (CONT'D)
I’m going to take care of this. You may now go back to your offices. And Charlie, here’s your phone back.

Ash hands Charlie’s phone back to her.

Charlie puts the phone back in her purse as she and Jesse exit the office.

The door closes.

On the next Network, it’s pilot decision time.
