INT. CAR - NIGHT

SUPER: PREVIOUSLY ON WRITER’S BLOCK…

As established in the previous episode, Noah and Jack have been kicked out of the bunker by Ed, the owner of the bunker.

Noah and Jack contemplate.

NOAH
Now what are we going to do?

JACK
Back to hotel living.

NOAH
We gotta think fast. There’s a television writers’ conference coming up and it’s a perfect time to pitch some shows to writers.

JACK
In Anaheim?

NOAH
Where else?

JACK
If Ed needs convincing evidence, we’ll get the evidence. Good thinking.

Jack and Noah high-five each other.

BACK TO PRESENT EPISODE.

EXT. APARTMENT BUILDING - AFTERNOON

SUPER: TWO WEEKS LATER

A shabby looking apartment sits in the middle of downtown Beverly Hills, California.

When we last left Mike, he and Jill celebrated a little too much and may have gotten into a serious relationship (maybe not, but you never know).

But today, Mike is getting the numbers for Writer’s Block.

INT. MIKE’S APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - AFTERNOON

The door opens to reveal Mike.

He is tired from work, and he closes the door.

He places his work belongings on his coffee table and sits on the sofa.

MIKE
Oh, what a day. What a day.

He then sighs.

The door then flips open to reveal an ecstatic Will.

WILL
Congrats on the premiere, Mike!

Startled, Mike then jumps up.

MIKE
Premiere?

WILL
That’s not all. Look at the critical reviews.

Will then takes out the trade paper.

He hands it to Mike.

MIKE
Not only did it get absurdly high numbers, but my show is being called “TV’s Best New Show”. We’re going to be rich!

WILL
It’s all you and Jill though. And other writers. I have nothing to do with it.

Mike enthusiastically places his hand on Will’s shoulder.

MIKE
It doesn’t matter. We’ll have the money to get out of this shabby apartment. You, me, Jill, and Mark.

Will then nods.

EXT. CONVENTION CENTER - AFTERNOON

The convention center is located near Los Angeles.

INT. CONVENTION CENTER HALLWAY - AFTERNOON

Discouraged, Jack and Noah keep practicing the pitch to the script.

NOAH
Not one writer has shown interest in this script yet.

JACK
Give it time. Someone will notice.

A group of writers (WRITER #1, WRITER #2, WRITER #3) catch the eye of Noah and Jack.

WRITER #1
Hey, do you guys need any help with anything?

JACK
Just trying to pitch a script.

WRITER #2
We’re all ears.

WRITER #3
Give it a shot!

NOAH
Here goes nothing...we have a workplace comedy about a big family that works together.

The writers all nod.

On the next Writer’s Block, some luck changes.
