S.W.A.T. Canceled by CBS After Six Seasons

After airing six seasons across four different nights, CBS has canceled S.W.A.T. The drama series has been the only veteran series left for CBS to renew or cancel since the Blue Bloods renewal on March 29. It started its run on Thursdays for two seasons, and struggled in its third and fourth seasons against Chicago PD on Wednesdays. S.W.A.T. held its own in its fifth and sixth seasons, airing primarily on Fridays with a stint on Sundays in the last half of Season 5.

S.W.A.T. broke the trend of shows ending their runs in the Sunday at 10 pm time slot, but continued the trend of solidly-rated veteran Friday dramas being abruptly canceled. Contracts would have needed to be renegotiated for a seventh season of the Sony co-produced series to happen.

This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.
