ABC's top-rated show will be back next season, as The Conners has been renewed for a sixth season. This Roseanne continuation series has long been a valuable part of a diminishing ABC comedy department, but experienced a particularly strong season this year, holding fully steady from last season with a 0.50 season average in the 18-49 ratings demographic. The show took advantage of its new time slot, having been moved to 8 PM this year after two seasons on Wednesdays at 9. Its performance in the slot was barely below The Goldbergs' performance there in the 2021-22 TV season, despite a 20% drop in the broadcast league average. The show is the last from an era of family sitcom domination on ABC, following the cancellation of The Goldbergs this season. John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf, Lecy Goranson and Jay R.
