Lopez vs Lopez Renewed for Season 2

Lopez vs Lopez will be back on NBC next season, earning a renewal for a second season today. The show, starring real-life father and daughter George and Mayan Lopez, is George's fourth self-titled sitcom and his first with NBC. The show debuted on Friday nights, where his first sitcom debuted on ABC over twenty years ago, before moving to Tuesdays late in its freshman run. Its ratings were middling, with a 0.28 season average, though that was enough to make the show NBC's #2 comedy this season. The show was NBC's first sitcom since Superstore to receive a full season, and their first freshman comedy to receive a twenty-two episode order since The Michael J. Fox Show in 2013 (that show did not air its full order, being pulled with seven episodes left to go). NBC highlighted its streaming performance when they announced the full season order, and also noted the show's strength among Hispanic viewers, two factors that also likely assisted in the renewal. Matt Shively, Selenis Leyva, Brice Gonzalez and Al Madrigal star in the series alongside the Lopezes. This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.
