Preliminary Analysis: After two days of rotten luck, Fox's duo of Ken Jeong-hosted reality shows brought the network to an easy Wednesday (or "Kensday") win. But it wasn't all good news given that the season debut of 'The Masked Singer' (1.4) took a 44% hit from last year's stellar 2.5 A18-49 rating. It was a new series low for 'Singer' by two-tenths and also well below its quarantine-boosted May 2020 finale (2.3). But the juggernaut was already at such a high level that it was able to sustain this steep drop without its numbers falling into ugly territory. The silver lining came at 9pm when 'I Can See Your Voice' (1.1) posted a sturdy number for its debut and retained a solid portion of its lead-in's audience.
Over on CBS, 'Big Brother' (1.1) held even while 'Love Island' (0.6) perked up to a new high-point. '48 Hours: Suspicion' (0.4) posted a passable result at 10. NBC's 'America's Got Talent' (0.8/0.9) rose by two-tenths for its finale while leading out of a clip show of itself (0.6). ABC's presentation of 2014 Marvel film 'Guardians of the Galaxy' (0.4) failed to garner much traction and the 'Goldbergs' repeat (0.2) after it went even lower. The CW's 'The 100' (0.1) inched down while 'Coroner' (0.1) held steady for its finale.
Finals Update: 'The Masked Singer' (1.6, +0.2) adjusted up by two-tenths on Fox. This means that it is now tied with its series low instead of having set a new one. 'I Can See Your Voice' (1.2, +0.1) also adjusted up. On CBS, 'Big Brother' (1.2, +0.1) adjusted up alongside the 'America's Got Talent' clip show (0.7, +0.1) on NBC.
