Tuesday TV Ratings 9/22/20: Cosmos Low in Premiere, Dancing with the Stars Takes a Hit (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: Day two of Fox's fall rollout turned out to be even more dismal then the first as the broadcast debut of 'Cosmos: Possible Worlds' (0.4/0.3) began in abysmal territory. While there was no way it was going to garner the numbers its first season managed six years ago, this is still a whopping seven-tenths below its 2014 series low. 'Cosmos' will only air one episode next week.

ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars' (1.0) took a sizable three-tenth hit in week two but remained in remarkably solid territory. It was once more the top telecast of the night and the only show to manage a 1.0 A18-49 rating. The 'Time100' special that came after it (0.4) performed no better than how previous 'Dancing' lead-out 'Vote or Miss Out' (0.4) did last Monday. 'America's Got Talent' (0.8) gained back a tenth on NBC while drama 'Transplant' (0.5) held even at its season high. Sandwiched between repeats of 'NCIS' (0.4) and 'FBI: Most Wanted' (0.3), CBS's 'Love Island' (0.4) inched down. On the CW, 'Dead Pixels' (0.1) and 'Tell Me a Story' (0.1) were once again steady.

Finals Update: Dancing with the Stars (+0.1) and Love Island (+0.1) adjusted up.
