Four days before their Sunday season premieres, Fox has handed two-season renewals to cartoon sitcoms 'Family Guy' and 'Bob's Burgers'. Currently on its 19th season, 'Family Guy' is now locked in for a 20th and 21st season. Meanwhile, 'Bob's' has secured a 12th and 13th season. Noticeably missing from this renewal announcement is animated powerhouse 'The Simpsons'. Homer, Marge, and Bart are slated to air their 32nd season premiere this coming Sunday.

Originally premiering on the network in 1999, 'Family Guy' was canceled by the Fox network in 2002 due to low ratings. It made a triumphant reappearance in 2005 and has been a reliable performer for them ever since. The series follows the everyday lives of the Griffin family in Quahog, Rhode Island. 'Bob's Burgers' debuted in 2011 and features the dysfunctional Belcher family as they run and maintain a small burger restaurant. Airing in the 9:00pm timeslot on Sundays, the 10th season of 'Bob's Burgers' averaged a passable 0.73 A18-49 rating. 'Family Guy' was close behind with a respectable 0.71 rating during the 2019-20 television season.

These were both correct predictions by the TVRatingsGuide, with both shows being in the "certain renewal" category. The two shows once intertwined in a 2019 'Family Guy' episode. Here is the clip below.

What do you think of this news? Are you a fan of either show? Are they still as good as they were in the past? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
