Preliminary Analysis: With the traditional premiere week delayed due to Covid-19, the majority of the networks chugged along with leftover programming from the summer months. Only Fox was able to gather up a pandemic-proof lineup, hosting the series premieres of new dramas 'LA's Finest' (0.5) and 'Filthy Rich' (0.4). Neither program performed particularly well but 'Finest' could still be in pretty good shape if it remains steady at this rating in the upcoming weeks or manages to rise a bit. Nonetheless, it's hard to be too optimistic with these numbers when they could only tie what a pair of 'MasterChef' repeats garnered last week.
ABC's 'Monday Night Football' broadcast of Saints v. Raiders (1.6) effortlessly topped the night, beating out every other network even if they combined the ratings of their entire lineup. NBC had a steady 'American Ninja Warrior' (0.5) and 'Dateline' (0.4). CBS started the night with repeats of 'The Neighborhood' (0.3) and 'Young Sheldon' (0.3). Those two led into a stable 'Love Island' (0.5) and the poorly-rated broadcast debut of Spectrum series 'Manhunt: Deadly Games' (0.3). And the CW went with repeats of 'Whose Line' (0.2/0.2) and 'Penn & Teller' (0.1).
Finals Update: Filthy Rich (+0.1), NFL Monday Night Football (+0.4) and repeats of The Neighborhood (+0.1) and Young Sheldon (+0.1) adjusted up.
