It was an eventful Thursday, as NBC said 'so long, farewell' to its Thursday lineup for the rest of the year while CBS said 'hello' to its lineup. CBS was preempted in New York, so their shows are certain to adjust down, but I'll analyze what I can here. The Big Bang Theory did decent in its typical transfer to Thursdays, down a tenth (for now) to 2.7. Young Sheldon sank (but that's both expected and understandable) to 2.4, but still looks like it's going to be a very strong retainer of its Big Bang lead-in. Mom was up a ton year-to-year, to a point where it needs to lose four tenths in finals to be down. Life In Pieces was also up, though that won't hold. SWAT had a decent premiere, but like the others, we won't know what its actual premiere rating will be until finals. NBC had a rough final night of 2017, with all shows falling. Superstore kicked off the night down down two tenths, while The Good Place held best, down a tenth to 1.0. Will & Grace sank three tenths, as did Great News. Will & Grace is still huge, just less so than last week. At 10, Chicago Fire was also at 1.0, meaning that NBC started and ended the night with the same rating. On Fox, Gotham held steady, while The Orville was down two tenths after its renewal to 1.0. ABC and The CW both held up completely week-to-week.
Finals Update: Young Sheldon (-0.2), Mom (-0.4), Life in Pieces (-0.3), and SWAT (-0.2) adjusted down. Will & Grace (+0.1) adjusted up.
