Saturday TV Ratings 7/31/21: Tokyo Olympics Hit Another Low, ABC Reality and 48 Hours Repeats Take Very Distant Second (UPDATED)

Preliminary Analysis: Falling below a 2.0 rating for the first time, the 'Tokyo Olympics' (1.9) lost four-tenths from Friday and had its weakest performance yet. An upward adjustment in finals will surely take this broadcast back into the 2s, but this remains a discouraging low-point for the sports event. Outside of the 'Olympics', nothing else on broadcast managed higher than a 0.2 rating. ABC had repeats of 'AFV' (0.2), Shark Tank' (0.2), and 'The Good Doctor' (0.1). CBS had a meager rerun of 'Magnum PI' (0.1) and a pair of '48 Hours' encores (0.1/0.2). Fox had nothing to write home about with its telecast of 'PBC Boxing' (0.1).

Finals Update: 2020 Tokyo Olympics (+0.4) and the repeat of America's Funniest Home Videos (+0.1) adjusted up.
