Preliminary Analysis: ABC's latest reality effort 'The Ultimate Surfer' (0.3) was a complete dud on day one, retaining just a third of its 'Bachelor in Paradise' lead-in (0.9) for its premiere. 'Paradise' itself held even with last week's return. NBC's 'American Ninja Warrior' (0.4) was two-tenths below what it garnered a week ago while 'The Wall' (0.4) only shed a tenth. On Fox, 'HouseBroken' fell to its first preliminary 0.2 rating after clinging to a 0.3 for so long. 'Hell's Kitchen' (0.6) and the penultimate 'Duncanville' (0.2) tied their previous episodes. The CW was essentially unchanged with 'Roswell, New Mexico' (0.1) and 'The Republic of Sarah' (0.0). CBS had a carousel of comedy and drama reruns (0.3/0.3/0.2/0.2/0.2).
