The White Lotus Renewed by HBO

HBO is booking a second trip to The White Lotus. The premium cable network has ordered a second season of the buzzy, acclaimed satirical comedy-drama series from Mike White. The series debuted on HBO on July 11, opening to modest ratings before growing in coming weeks as buzz for the series built online. The show has also drawn rave reviews from critics, which likely also helped in ensuring that the serious would not simply be a one-season miniseries. The second season of the show will not feature the same guests, or the same titular hotel, with a new cast of characters and a new setting envisioned as the show becomes an anthology series. Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge, Steve Zahn, Sydney Sweeney, Murray Bartlett, Alexandra Daddario, Fred Hechinger, Natasha Rothwell, Brittany O'Grady, Jake Lacy and Molly Shannon starred in the first season of the series, and it is yet to be announced whether any of them will return for the second season in different roles.
