EXT. SUBURBIA - DAY
It’s Daniel’s old neighborhood.
There is a blurring distortion above the ground. Bailey, Joel, Greg, and Tyler fall onto the street. They slowly stand groaning in pain.
JOEL
You know, for once it’s nice to be in a place that looks… normal.
GREG
Yeah, no battle royale and no medieval shit.
TYLER
Uhhhhhhhh, guys, does this place look familiar?
BAILEY
It’s Daniel’s neighborhood.
JOEL
Yeah, but it looks livelier.
TYLER
Well, I think it’s obvious that we should look at his house.
Bailey begins walking in the direction of Daniel’s house. The men follow.
They reach the house and sitting on the lawn tending to a garden, is another Bailey.
JOEL
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any weirder.
The other Bailey notices their presence and stands up and offers a warm smile.
THE OTHER BAILEY
Hey ya’ll. Did y’all just move in?
BAILEY
Uhhhhhh…
JOEL
Yes. Yes, we did.
Joel holds Bailey’s hand.
JOEL
Play along.
BAILEY
Yes. Yes we uh just move in down the street. This is my husband Joel and I’m…
JOEL
B. Just B.
BAILEY
Yes, B.
THE OTHER BAILEY
It’s so wonderful to meet you all.
(To Greg and Tyler)
And look at you two. How long have you two been together?
GREG & TYLER
Excuse me?
JOEL
Four years.
Greg and Tyler prepare to protest but Joel and Bailey glare at them. The two reluctantly hold hands.
THE OTHER BAILEY
It’s great to finally have neighbors. Oh, let me introduce my husband. Daniel, come meet the new neighbors!
Daniel exits the house and smiles at the group.
DANIEL
Hey.
The group nods and waves.
DANIEL
Why don’t you all come in for some lemonade?
They all enter the house.
INT. HOUSE - DAY
The group sits on a couch and the other Bailey sits in a chair.
DANIEL
I’ll go make some lemonade for y’all.
JOEL
I’ll help.
Joel gets up and follows Daniel to the kitchen.
THE OTHER BAILEY
So, what do you do for a living?
GREG
Uhhhhhh I was...am in the Navy.
THE OTHER BAILEY
Wow. It must have been so hard coming out as a gay man in the Navy.
GREG
Uhh yeah. I guess you could say that.
TYLER
It’s been hard for him… and for me.
Tyler begins to fake cry. Greg discreetly stomps on Tyler’s foot.
Meanwhile in the kitchen, Daniel squeezes the lemons while Joel cuts lemons.
DANIEL
It really is nice to have neighbors.
JOEL
Must have been lonely here. All by yourself.
DANIEL
Yes. I do have Bailey. Well, almost.
JOEL
Huh?
DANIEL
She’s quite dull. She looks like she has personality but she’s just… an empty shell. But now, you’ve brought me what I’ve really wanted. Bailey.
JOEL
You're not Daniel, are you?
DANIEL
Yes and no.
Daniel stops juicing the lemons and turns to face Joel.
DANIEL
Did you really think a bullet would kill me?
Joel looks confused. It takes him a moment and then… he realizes…
JOEL
You!
Joel raises the kitchen knife, but Daniel raises his hand, and the knife flies out of Joel’s hand and into the wall. Daniel flicks his hand which now glows green and Joel flies across the wall and is pinned.
DANIEL
Why Daniel is friends with people like you, I will never understand.
Daniel clenches his face and Joel’s slowly turns blue.
DANIEL
I was never really gone. I was a prisoner inside Daniel. Waiting until I could take control. Then… I sensed his programming being torn apart and I seized my opportunity. Now, all I need is the real Bailey. Then… then I’ll be happy.
Bailey, Tyler, and Greg appear in the doorway and see what’s going on. They look at Daniel and then at Joel.
TYLER
Dan, what are you doing!
JOEL
(Gasping)
It’s not Dan, it’s the other Daniel! From Battle Land.
GREG
Oh shit!
Greg and Tyler prepare to materialize their weapons, but Daniel raises his other hand and Greg, and Tyler are pinned against the wall.
BAILEY
Why are you doing this?
DANIEL
Bailey, it’s okay, I just have to kill him, Greg, and Tyler and then we can be together.
BAILEY
What did you do to Daniel!
DANIEL
Relax, he’s fine. I’m just… using his body.
Bailey runs up to Daniel and slaps him. Joel, Greg, and Tyler fall to the ground. The other Bailey appears in the doorway.
THE OTHER BAILEY
What on earth is going on!
DANIEL
Ugh, are you still here?
Daniel shoots a beam of green energy at the other Bailey, and she disintegrates.
DANIEL
She wasn't you. You’re… more.
BAILEY
I don’t care, give me Daniel!
JOEL
Yeah, at least he wasn’t a dick.
Daniel shoots a green energy and hits Joel, who flies through the wall and into the living room.
BAILEY
Let Daniel go!
DANIEL
Why? He was weak! He doesn't deserve you! WE belong together.
Daniel begins glowing green, and the house begins pixilating.
DANIEL
I won’t let anything stand in our way!
Daniel raises his fist at Greg and Tyler, and they begin to glow green. Bailey runs and tackles Daniel. She body slams him against the kitchen counter. Daniel grabs her and they both fly up and hit the ceiling and fall to the ground.
BAILEY
I won’t let you hurt them. Daniel, if you can hear me, you have to fight him.
Daniel and Bailey wrestle on the ground. Tyler materializes his staff and prepares to bring it down. Daniel throws Bailey at Tyler and the two fall to the ground.
Daniel turns to Greg.
DANIEL
What, no chainsaw?
Greg raises his fist.
GREG
I don’t want to hurt my friend. But I don’t mind beating the shit out of you.
Daniel raises his glowing fist and the two run towards each other. Daniel lands a punch at Greg’s jaw and Greg flies back and hits the wall. Daniel runs up to Greg and swings. Greg blocks it and lands his own punch to send Daniel back. Joel jumps on Daniel’s back and gets him in a choke hole.
Bailey and Tyler get up and Bailey goes up to Daniel and holds his face.
BAILEY
Fight him, Daniel. Fight him! Come back to me! You promised you wouldn’t ever leave me.
Daniel yells and then stops and begins pixelating a bluish green. He screams in pain. Joel releases him and he falls to his knees. He looks up at Bailey.
DANIEL
B-Bailey.
Daniel falls to the ground unconscious. The house pixelates and the surroundings turn white until it’s just the group. Bailey kneels next to Daniel.
BAILEY
Daniel? Daniel?
Daniel disappears as does the group.
END.
