2x09 - “Writer’s Room”

FADE IN:
EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY
When we last left Jack and Noah, they were kicked out of Uncle Peter’s house.
Also, Mike’s show has a time slot, a prime one.
A car is parked in the middle of the parking lot at a motel.
INT. CAR - DAY
Inside the car, Jack and Noah awaken from their early morning slumber.
The phone rings.
Jack answers the phone.
INTERCUT - CAR/WILL’S APARTMENT OFFICE
Will paces back and forth with his phone in hand.
WILL
You hanging in there?
JACK
Just finding some places with Internet access.
WILL
Awww man! You should have called me sooner. I could have used a few more roommates.
JACK
Too late for that now. Mike hates us.
Noah nods at Jack after Jack turns towards him.
JACK (CONT’D)
Listen, I need to ask you a question. Did you get the script I sent you?
WILL
About that...I don’t think I’m going to go through this.
JACK
(alarmingly)
Why not?
WILL
I loved the premise of the script. But the execution of it is much different than I anticipated. And honestly, the two of you would work better together than the three of us since we have differing visions.
JACK
Well, thank you for letting us know.
WILL
I’m glad you’re not mad at me about this.
JACK
Why would we be?
Jack looks at Noah with a solemn look. Noah nods.
INT. MIKE’S APARTMENT LIVING ROOM - DAY
Mike sits excitedly in his living room sofa.
Jill suddenly shows up by opening the door to his apartment.
Mike turns around.
MIKE
Just the person I am waiting to see.
JILL
Okay, I just wanted to check up on you.
Mike then gets up from his place.
MIKE
I have a title. It’s called Writer’s Block. I also have a favor to ask you.
Skeptically, Jill nods.
She crosses her arms.
JILL
Go ahead. Lay it on me.
MIKE
Would you like to join the writer’s room on the show?
JILL
Of course. On one condition -- equal pay.
MIKE
Will do.
Jill laughs as Mike returns to his seat.
