It'll be a merry Christmas for Dick Wolf's One Chicago series, with all of them performing extremely well and none of them even going below 1.0 thus far. They're NBC's MVPs this season, and their fans have no reason to be worried. Superstore is also an MVP to a much smaller degree, thanks to it being their comedy highlight on Thursday nights. It's also in for a happy holiday. Late-night sketch comedy powerhouse Saturday Night Live may be in for the merriest Christmas of all. It's NBC's top unrenewed scripted show, and even 45 years in, it remains one of NBC's brightest spots.
Not having a merry Christmas is the new fall slate. With zero shows receiving backorders, one already canceled, and one already wrapped for the season (AKA forever) after being capped, it was a terrible season for NBC newbies, at least so far. Nothing has rated ever somewhat decently, and they all deserve to be canceled. As I stated last week, Perfect Harmony is the most likely to return of the premiered shows, but even it is a huge long shot. Santa won't be stopping at their houses, but the Grinch will be.
