ABC's longest-running drama will scrub in for another season, as Grey's Anatomy has been renewed for season 23. The show was once a near-untouchable hit, but has weakened in linear ratings, and is among ABC's lowest-rated shows in the same-day 18-49 demo this season, with a 0.19 average. However, it remains a valuable show for ABC overall, thanks to solid delayed ratings gains and strong international sales. Budget cuts have hit the show in recent years, and it was just announced that longtime cast members Kevin McKidd and Kim Raver would exit the show after its current season. The show has also run for shorter seasons as of late, with an eighteen-episode order for the last two seasons, which lines up with fellow Thursday night drama 9-1-1. Ellen Pompeo, the titular Grey, now appears on the show in a recurring role, appearing in about half of the series' episodes each season. James Pickens Jr. and Chandra Wilson are the only other original cast members who remain as series regulars, while Camilla Luddington, Caterina Scorsone, and Jason George are among the other series regulars on the series, which features one of TV's largest ensemble casts. This is a correct prediction for The TV Ratings Guide.
